Manifesto

This effort of mine to think up a manifesto that gives people something positive to vote for is currently being serialised on UK Reloaded in the UK and The Liberty Beacon in the US.

The premise behind it is simple:

If we are to have a government that sincerely and diligently works for the wellbeing of all the People, what should be the fundamental policies and principles upon which it operates?

To get anything done one must have a workable starting point. For example, if you wish to build a successful soccer team a bad starting point such as "let's give the stadium a lick of paint" will not help. A better starting point would be "let's train the players to be thoroughly adept at passing the ball".

So it is with building a happy and well-run nation to replace the mismanaged mess we are currently lumbered with. A bad starting point would be to sit back and hope the system will spontaneously and miraculously sort itself out so that everything will be lovely. A better starting point is to figure out some basic agreements that would shape, guide and help the creation of a better government.

So this effort is not party-political. It is an undercut designed to refine and make rational the core agreements with all its corruption and party-political nonsense upon which our governance is based and which has enabled dishonest people to turn our democracy into a con game.
